Mrs. Melba Davis -- College Prep Academy & Jennings Junior High School Principal

Melba D. Davis attended St. Louis Public Schools where she was inspired by true master teachers. She very soon developed the love of teaching young people how to dream and make goals a reality through consistent and persistent hard work and effort.

After graduating from college, Mrs. Davis accepted a teaching position in St. Louis Public Schools where she taught communication arts and mathematics to seventh and eighth grade students.  After many years of teaching, Mrs. Davis entered the field of administration serving as an Instructional Coordinator, Assistant Principal and finally as Principal of Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School.

As the leader of the school, Mrs. Davis inspired the staff, students, and parents of three distinct programs within the building (traditional program, performing arts program, and gifted & talented program) to unite and function as one school.  During her tenure at Carr Lane, the school was a recipient of the Blue Ribbon Award from the State Department.

Mrs. Davis is very excited and up for the challenge of leading the JJH College Prep Academy.  With the outstanding staff members, dedicated parents, and committed students, the College Prep Academy will prepare students to succeed as they prepare for higher education.
